Luna is a sweet, loving, and playful 3 year old English Mastiff. She came into the AZ Mastiff Rescue via a San Diego shelter. She came to us with an open wound on her back. We healed that wound to only then have to start fighting kennel cough, and then she went into heat. Just when she was cleared to be spayed her leg became hot to the touch and swollen. We believe she got bit by a spider. We started to treat the swollen leg only to have it burst open like an abscess down to the bone overnight. It's summer time again and sadly that means the number of dogs coming into rescue goes up. AZ Mastiff Rescue currently has 50 dogs in rescue. Of those dogs 10 are not medically adoptable and will stay in rescue with fosters, 9 will be ready after major medical issues are taken care of. Some are just not ready, as we need to get to know them better, the rest are available for adoption. Once again we are very lucky and grateful to the many local companies that have donated items to help out rescue.

Charlotte came into rescue this week. She was seen wandering around Grand Ave in Phoenix, AZ. People tried catching her with no luck. It was a firefighter that finally found her, but she had been hit by a car. She needs her leg fixed right away, and has an eye issue that will also need fixing. We really appreciate any help at all with her care. Thank you

WHY: Because we love dogs, and giving back to our community is pretty cool too. The ReThinc Rescue Rinse is an annual charity dog wash, hosted by the team at ReThinc Advertising. Each year we gather as a community to raise funds for a local, no-kill shelter.
This year, 100% of donations will benefit AZ Mastiff Rescue as a way to honor our beloved Duke, whom we lost last year. Dogs are not our whole world, but they make our worlds whole… ok who are we kidding – dogs are our whole world.
DOG WASH + TOWEL DRY: With a donation of your choice, our friendly volunteers will give your dog a sweet and simple, harmless bath with a towel dry. While the event is free, a simple $20 donation is suggested, and can even cover the costs to vaccinate a puppy.
SILENT AUCTION: Thanks to the generosity of our friends, partners, and greater community, you can bid on all kinds of goodies at the event. From gift cards to local coffee shops to BarkBox goodies for your pup, don’t miss your chance to support a great cause and get something great in return.
